PSALM 140, Deliver Me. O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the the violent man; which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah. Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set nets for me. Selah. I said unto the Lord, thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.
Psalm 140, continued, O God the Lord, The strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle. Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah. As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not again.Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him. I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the affliced, and the right of the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
PLEASE DON'T LET THE TIME RUN OUT ON YOU, GET RIGHT!
The churches of Christ salute you, Romans 16:16.
. BEFORE MAN IS LIFE AND DEATH, GOOD AND EVIL, THAT WHICH HE SHALL CHOOSE SHALL BE GIVEN HIM.
Dear Brothers, the apostle Peter whom Jesus the Christ gave the keys of the Kingdom of heaven to; Matthew 16:17:19, which is the Church, said; 2 Peter,1:12; "Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present Truth. The Truth of our Christian faith which can be found in the Holy Bible. To understand the Truth you have to be looking for it (recorded in Proverbs 2 Solomon taught the rewards of searching for the truth ) and you have to be reasonable cause many times the Truth that comes from God's Word is not what we been taught from our youth. Also feelings past or present does not change the Truth. Jesus praying to His Father God recorded in (John 17:17) said sanctify them through the Truth, Your Word is Truth. This Word, God who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in times past unto the Fathers hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom also He made the Worlds, (Hebrews 1:1-2). This Word Jesus also said; recorded in (John 17:20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their Word. To us of the Living, all other words are the imagination of someone's mind. Believing in the true faith from the Bible, we will not follow them. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and they will hear no other (John 10:1-6). In (1 Peter 4:11) If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles (or actual Words) of God. In (2 Corinthians 13:5-6), Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the Faith, prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
So dear brother you can see if you can't pick up the Bible and show in the Bible how you got in a saved condition. And how you are working out your salvation with trembling and fear. Then you must be outside the Body of the saved and we want to help you get it right so that you also will live forever. Before man is life and death good and evil what he choose will be given him.
It is impossible to be saved out of the church of Christ, because it is impossible to be saved without being delivered out of the power of darkness: " Who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love" (Col. 1:13). Those in the kingdom-and the kingdom is the church of Christ(Matt.16:18,19)-have been delivered out of the power of darkness. Hence, those not in the kingdom have not been delievered out of the power of darkness. Persons out of the kingdom which is the church of Christ are in need of having their eyes opened "that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me" (Acts 26:18).
The church is what Jesus built. Jesus did not say to Peter, "I will build your church". He said, "I will build my church". It is not "the church of Saint Peter". It is the church of Christ. Jesus is the true rock, and the church has "no other foundation" and no other founder. (1Co 3:11). Many denominations exist, all built and founded by someone other than Jesus. The church is not one of these. The church of Christ existed before any of these denominations. It did not arise out of them, and they did not arise out of it. They are separate "buildings" which the Lord did not build.
We the church of Christ have become the true children of God, Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise, not the Jews in the world today ( Galatians 3:26-29). Consequently the Living God will bless them that bless us and will curse those that curse us ( Genesis 12:3) . We have the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations but now is made manifest to his Saints who we are (Colssians 1:26). Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HELPING US IN OUR NEEDS AROUND THE WORLD AND THE FALSE TEACHERS AROUND THE WORLD. Jesus told Peter, "I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18). Soon after he died and arose from the dead, he did exactly that —He built his church, and he has been building it ever since. Jesus built his church not of wood and stone, but of people. All who make Christ the foundation of their lives, and obey him in faith, become stones in the temple of God. All those people are the church of Christ (1 Peter 2:4-8). The holy scriptures say; "You also as living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 2:5). Jesus Christ is "the chief corner stone", and by him was laid "the foundation of the apostles and prophets", then all other Christians, on that foundation, "are being built together" (Ephesians 2:19-22). Jesus is the true rock, and the church has "no other foundation" and no other founder (1 Corinthians 3:11). Many denominations exist, all built and founded by someone other than Jesus. The church is not one of these. They are separate "buildings" which the Lord did not build. Only the church that Jesus built was "purchased with his own blood" (Acts 20:28). Jesus gave his blood as a “bride price” to make the church his "bride" whom he loves (Ephesians 5:25). "Christ loved the church and gave himself for her... that he might present her to himself a glorious church... holy and without blemish" (Ephesians 5:25-28 ). Christ doesn't have a harem. He doesn't have several different brides. He did not purchase any denomination with his blood, nor take any denomination as his bride. The church is "one body" (Ephesians 4:4). This body has "many members" (1Corinthians 12:12). And most importantly, Christ is "the head of the body, the church..." (Colossians 1:18). "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body..." (1Corinthians 12:12-13). As Paul states above, when a person is baptized in Christ’s name, that person is baptized into the church which is the body of Christ. So one has not, thereby, become a member of any denominational body. Now there are about 2,000,000 people in the Church of Christ in this country (USA) maybe 14,000 some congregations and we are around the world.
We the church of Christ believe and teach that there is only one church we should belong to and
that is the one Jesus built, and which he purchased with his blood. we
believe there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved than
the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore the name Christian is the
only religious name we should wear. We believe nobody is a Christian
unless they have heard, believed, repented, confessed Christ, and been
baptized. We believe that they sin if they join a denomination, and unless
they repent and get out of that denomination they face the fiery judgment.
I have not quoted the scriptures for these teachings because you are a man
of the word and ought to know where they are. I cannot see anything in my
belief that is false teaching or that is not according to
the oracles of God.
The truth on baptism; can one's baptism be invalid? To answer this question let's turn to Acts 19:1-5. Paul found some disciples in Ephesus who had "not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost." When Paul asked them unto what were they baptized they responded, "Unto John's baptism." Paul explains to them the purpose of John's baptism in verse 4. Notice the response of these disciples as recorded in verse 5: they were "baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus" upon hearing Paul's words. In these verses we see that one may be baptized, and have their baptism be invalid. These disciples saw the need to be baptized again once they had learned the truth. John's baptism ceased to be in effect once Christ died on the cross and the church was instituted. Just as these people needed baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus once they heard the truth, people today who are baptized in response to false teaching need to submit to baptism in the name of Jesus to have their sins washed away. If one hears and believes error, they will not be baptized for the right reasons. Once they hear and believe the truth, they must repent of sins, confess the name of Jesus before men, and be baptized for the remission of sins in order to enter a saved state
1)WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? (1) The Question Analyzed http://www.saviorleadme.com/Saved.html
Obviously, things have not changed since the days of the apostles, for there are still men among us who "corrupt" the pure Gospel of Christ. "to draw away disciples after them" (Acts 20:29). All such men then and all such men now who do such things are guily of division, dividing the body of Christ for personl glory, and DIVISION IS SIN.
ONE OF GREATEST EVILS FACING THE CHURCH TODAY IS THE WILLINGNESS FOR SOME CHURCH LEADERSHIPS TO GIVE IN TO UNBELIEVERS, FALSE TEACHERS, AND THOSE WHO DO NOT CONTEND FOR THE TRUE FAITH. OFTEN TIMES THIS IS DONE WITHOUT MUCH REGARD FOR THE SON OF GOD WHO WAS WILLING TO GIVE HIS LIFE THAT WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY. 3 JOHN 10:10
WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO CHANGE THAT WHICH GOD HAS GIVEN TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY AND INSPIRED WORD; YET, SOME MEN HAVE TAKEN IT UPON THEMSELVES TO DO SO BY FOLLOWSHIPPING UNBELIEVERS. THEY DO THIS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOCIAL STATUS AND NUMERICAL GROWTH. THE FACT OF THE MATTER REMAINS THAT 500 PEOPLE SITTING IN A CHURCH BUILDING ON SUNDAY MORNING WHO HAVE NOT OBEYED THE PURE UNADULTERATED GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST ARE STILL 500 PEOPLE SITTING IN A CHURCH BUILDING ON SUNDAY MORNING WHO ARE NOT CHRISTIANS!
APOSTASY, "FALLING AWAY' IS THE ACT OF PROFESSED CHRISTIANS WHO DELIBERATELY REJECT REVEALED TRUTH AS TO (1) THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST, AND (2) REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS ATONING AND REDEEMING SACRIFICE (1 JOHN 4:1-3,"Beloved, believe not every sprit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the spirit of God: Every spririt that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world". PHILIPPIANS.3:18,"For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ". 2 PETER.2:1,"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themseleves swift destruction"). APOSTASY DIFFERS, THEREFORE, FROM ERROR CONCERNING THE TRUTH, WHICH MAY BE THE RESULT OF IGNORANCE (ACTS 19:1-6, And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coast came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have you received the Holy Gost since you believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were you baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus NOW HERESY, WHICH MAY BE DUE TO THE SNARE OF SATAN (2 TIMOTHY. 2:25-26, "In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God preadventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will".), BOTH OF WHICH MAY EXIST WITH TRUE FAITH. THE APOSTATE IS PERFECTLY DESCRIBED IN (2 TIMOTHY.4:3-4; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears fron the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"). APOSTATES DEPART FROM THE FAITH, BUT NOT FROM THE OUTWARD PROFESSION OF CHRISTIANITY (2 TIMOTHY.4:3-5; ). APOSTATE TEACHERS ARE ALSO DESCRIBED IN ( 2 PETER.2:1-9),(JUDE 4,8,11-13,16). APOSTASY IN THE CHURCH, AS IN ISRAEL (ISA. 1:5-6, 5:5-7), IS UNRIMEDIABLE AND AWAITS JUDGMENT (2TH.2:10-12, 2 PET.2:17-21, JUDE 11-15, REV.3:14-16)
"Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins."—Psalm 19:13.
ALL SINS are great sins, but yet some sins are greater than others. Every sin has in it the very venom of rebellion, and is full of the essential marrow of traitorous rejection of God. But there be some sins which have in them a greater development of the essential mischief of rebellion, and which wear upon their faces more of the brazen pride which defies the Most High. It is wrong to suppose that because all sins will condemn us, that therefore one sin is not greater than another. The fact is, that while all transgression is a greatly grievous sinful thing, yet there are some transgressions which have a deeper shade of blackness, and a more double scarlet-dyed hue of criminality than others. Now the presumptuous sins are the chief of all sins: they rank head and foremost in the list of iniquities. It is remarkable, that though an atonement was provided under the Jewish law for every kind of sin, there was this one exception: "But the soul that sinneth presumptuously shall have no atonement; it shall be out off from the midst of my people." And now, under the Christian dispensation, although in the sacrifice of our blessed Lord there is a great and precious atonement for presumptuous sins, whereby sinners who have sinned in this manner are made clean, yet, without doubt, presumptuous sinners, dying without pardon, must expect to receive a double portion of the wrath of God, and a more wonderful manifestation of the unutterable anguish of the torment of eternal punishment in the pit that is digged for the wicked.
Just because a preacher or a speaker or a teacher uses Biblical knowledge to prove his or her point does not necessarily mean that everything they have taught is Biblical. It is up to each individual person to test what they hear against God's Word to make sure that what they have heard is the truth. And how do you do this? By staying rooted in your Bible, by reading your Bible over and over, by knowing it in and out, front and back. You will know a counterfeit dollar bill by touch if you handle real money often enough. So too will you know false teachings if you are familiar with what your Bible says.
Some leaders of the Church of Christ transgress the Word of God by their tradition on placing membership in THEIR congregation or THEIR church family. They also transgress the commandment of God by accepting those who's baptism is invalid.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
